How to Divide the number by 99

In this article , we will learn about the short trick of dividing any number by 99.

Divide two digit number by 99.

You don't need to do any calculation anymore in dividing. Let's start , there is a pattern which has to follow. Now , what is this pattern. Observe the table.

Observe the table , upto 99 , it is simply repeating the number. So 98/99 = .98989898...

Dividing 3 digit Number

Example : Find 863/99
Step 1 : From the right side , make the pair of two digit pair and add them.
63 + 8 = 71 .
Now divide this number by 99 .
71/99 = .717171...
Step 2 : Take the hundredth digit and add it with step one result.
8 + .7171717... = 8.71717171...
863/99 = 8.71717171.....

Example : Find 893/99
Step 1 : From the right side , make the pair of two digit pair and add them.
93 + 8 = 102 .
If the sum is greater than 100 , take only two digit (one's and ten's) from this.
Now divide this number by 99 .
02/99 = .020202...
Step 2 : Take the hundredth digit and add it with step one result and see from the first step if the sum is greater than 100 , add that hundredth digit to original number hundredth digit.
8 + 1 + .02020202... = 9.02020202...
893/99 = 9.0202020202.....
